Call for Papers. ‘Arms, Armour, and the Arts of Combat’ at Leeds International Medieval Congress, July 2027.
We kindly invite proposals for papers and panels on any aspect of arms, armour, and the arts of combat. Potential themes could include – but are not limited to – any of the following:
- Development, production, and typology of arms and armour.
- Cultural and legal significance of arms, armour, and combat.
- Tournaments.
- Fencing knowledge and practices.
- Arms, armour, and combat in literature.
- Gendered arms, armour, and combat.
- Papers relating to the conference theme of Communities.
